Background
Brittany fought a lifelong battle with Endometriosis. As a Stage IV Endometriosis Warrior, she experienced, on a daily basis, the very worst this disease had to offer. Constantly in debilitating pain and forever battling an array of symptoms, she always forged ahead, making sure her (baby panda) daughter Emma Rose always came first. Emma was her life.
The condition often marginalized, sadly some people falsely believe sufferers of Endometriosis should always be able to just 'suck it up', that it's just an inconvenience, not a 'real' disease.
The truth is, Endometriosis, especially at the Stage IV level, is an absolutely crippling disease. Brittany was on a mission to educate, a vocal presence on social media advocating awareness, resources and lovingly provided information and assistance to those suffering from this terrible affliction.
Then, as her final parting gift she selflessly offered herself up as a gift, by electing to be a donor, with the potential to save up to eight lives through organ donation while at the same time enhancing the quality of life for 100’s more through the healing gift of tissue donation.
Brittany was the very strongest of Pandas. The kindest and most beautiful loving girl, who ‘always’ put others first, always with a cheerful smile on her face. An angel who left the world a better place even after her short 28 years here with us. She was always ready and willing to give everyone a second chance, regardless of reciprocation. Her kindness, her empathy and spirit of love, lives on in her sweet girl Emma, who now has a devoted angel looking out for her. Always.
We should all aspire to have the strength, determination, fortitude and persistence, even in the face of persecution, pain and lifelong struggle. Now in her absence, your kind words and/or donation is an opportunity to say 'well done Brittany', 'life well lived, 'you were a kick-ass panda' ... now we're going to do the heavy lifting to make sure your work lives on, while you rest in the pain-free peace that always eluded you. Be at peace little panda. Be proud, and be finally at peace.
Your engagement ring should still be on your finger, but will now be forever close to my heart, on my necklace, as a reminder of all that was, and that should have been.
Your forever loving Fiancé and little froggy.
