Briseis's obituary

On March 14, 2024 Briseis Renee Payne made her angelic transition at the tender age of 23 from a rare form of ovarian cancer. Born August 6, 2000 in Sacramento, CA she spent her life exploring the world with loved ones, always planning her next adventure. A natural born artist, she flourished in every medium creating beautiful pieces beloved by all. In addition to art she also had a strong passion for animals with the dream of one day opening an animal sanctuary with her mother. Her love for animals inspired her to go vegan, advocating in her own way for the fair and humane treatment of all life. This change in diet also influenced her academically. She was a brilliant student at UC Davis studying Nutritional Sciences with the hope of one day inspiring and helping others to embrace the vegan diet, further saving more animals from harm. She was often considered by loved ones to be the living embodiment of her favorite princess, Rapunzel, as she shared practically every characteristic with her. From her love for art and adventure to her passion for animals and music mixed with her caring and radiant personality, there was no shortage in similarities. Her love for the world and life was truly unmatched. She was enchanting, compassionate, brave, gentle, inspiring. She was everything lovely in this world and so much more. She is survived by her mother, Catherine Phillips, father, Jeff Payne, and brother, Rhodes Payne, as well as tons of family and friends who love and miss her dearly. Please use this space to help share memories and photos of Briseis as we all grieve her loss together. Fly high, our angel. We love you forever and always.
