**Brienne Elizabeth Paulsen (née Hempe), 44, passed away on August 27th, 2024.**

Brienne was born on May 31st, 1980, in Ames, Iowa, to Cynthia Jackson and Mark Hempe. A wife, mother, and cherished friend, Brienne lived her life with a spirit of adventure and boundless energy. Her infectious humor and vibrant personality left a lasting impact on everyone she met. She embraced every moment and touched all who knew her.

Brienne had a deep passion for traveling, music, human rights and activism. She attended Florida Gulf Coast University and spent her career as an optometry office manager and data manager. Brienne was known for her fun personality and being fiercely protective of her children.

She married Steven Paulsen on March 18th, 2001, and together they built a loving home filled with laughter, warmth, and many cherished memories. Brienne’s greatest joy came from her family; she found immense happiness in spending time with her children.

Brienne is survived by her loving husband, Steven Paulsen; her children, Michael Johnson, Christopher Paulsen, Caille Marshall, Connor Paulsen, and Kate Paulsen; her parents, Cynthia Jackson and Mark Hempe, and her stepmother, Sandy Hempe; her sister, Devon Hempe; and her stepsiblings, Brent and Trish Fogarty.

A funeral service will be held on September 5th at Mission Park Funeral Chapels- Medical Center, 8332 Fredericksburg Rd, San Antonio, TX 78229. A viewing will be held at 3pm with service at 4pm.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to a college education fund for Brienne’s two youngest children, Connor and Kate, in Brienne’s memory.

Her family and friends will forever hold Brienne in their hearts, remembering her as a beautiful soul who brought light and love into our world.
