Brian David Sweeney

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Brian David Sweeney, who left this world on Monday, October 20th, 2025, at the age of 52. Brian was born on Wednesday, July 25th, 1973, and resided for many years in Bellevue, NE.

A proud veteran, Brian served his country honorably in the United States Navy, embodying a spirit of dedication and service that he carried with him throughout his life. Following his military service, Brian found his calling in the world of sports as a respected officiant, where he brought his passion and integrity to the field.

Brian is survived by his beloved family, including his brother Jeff Sweeney of Springfield, NE, and his son, Jacob Sweeney. He also leaves behind his step-sister Lynette Sweeney, his caring aunts Patricia (and her husband Jeff) Liss, and Kathy, as well as his dear uncle Tom. He was predeceased by his loving parents, Timothy and Judith Sweeney, whose memories he cherished.

Friends and family are invited to gather for a Celebration of Life on Tuesday, October 28th, 2025, at Braman Mortuary (Millard Chapel) in Omaha, NE. Visitation will commence at 10:00 am, followed by the Celebration of Life at 11:00 am.

Brian's legacy of love, commitment, and kindness will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew him. His laughter, warmth, and unwavering spirit will be missed profoundly, but his memory will live on in the stories and smiles he leaves behind.
