Brian's obituary

With heavy hearts, we share the passing of Brian Clawson—a devoted husband, proud father, loving son, caring big brother, and cherished friend. Born on June 24, 1982, Brian brought energy, laughter, and love to those lucky enough to know him before his passing on April 24, 2025.

Brian's journey wasn't always easy, and he’d be the first to admit that some challenges were of his own making. But true to form, he faced every obstacle head-on, turning tough times into turning points. His strength, grit, and growth over the years were a testament to the man he became—and an inspiration to everyone around him.

Brian's quick wit, dry sarcasm, and love for a good joke made him unforgettable. He was the kind of person who’d drop everything he could to help someone in need. That generous heart was just part of who he was.

He was a natural leader, not just in words but in the way he lived. Brian led with quiet strength, hard work, and compassion. He also proudly served his country, earning recognition and respect as a decorated soldier. But more than anything, Brian was most proud of being a dad. His kids were his world, and he poured his love and energy into being the best father he could be.

Brian is survived by his wife, Traci; his children, Bryson, TrevOr, Elizabeth, Brodie, and Mackenzie; his parents, Sylvia and Peter; his sister, Lindsey; his brothers, Matthew, Christopher, and Andrew; and his grandparents, Rose, Judi, and Max. He also leaves behind a large and loving extended family of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and many lifelong friends.

While we mourn his loss, we also celebrate the life he lived—a life full of heart, humor, and perseverance. Brian left a mark on the world and on our hearts, and his spirit will be with us always.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made in Brian's honor to any soldier- or veteran-focused supports, such as a VA Soldier Suicide Prevention organization, Reps 4 Vets, Wounded Warriors, VA PTSD organization, or the Stop Soldier Suicide non-profit.
