Brian's obituary

It is with heartfelt sadness that we announce the passing of Brian Wano, who left us on February 24, 2026. Born in 1958, Brian's life was filled with unyielding determination, respect for those around him, and an overarching devotion to the people he held dear. He fought against kidney cancer that previously took the lives of his father and brother. In 2008 he had his kidney removed and was cancer free for 18 years before it came back and spread to multiple sites including his brain and bones.

Brian was a man who left a vibrant mark on the world with his outgoing nature, sincere kindness, and a personality that was larger than life. He was never one to shy away from hard work, demonstrating a work ethic that was both remarkable and inspirational. His candid honesty was one of the many attributes that garnered him respect from everyone who had the fortune of knowing him.

Wisdom is often found in the trials and tribulations of life, and Brian was no exception. He was an indefatigable teacher who, with kindness and respect, imparted lessons on hard work, being a good person, and holding respect for others and oneself. These virtues were the foundation of his life and will continue to resonate with those who had the privilege to learn from him. He was a trainer at Frito Lay for many years and enjoyed the opportunity to help new drivers learn the complexities of the job while instilling a sense of pride for being a safe and competent  ambassador for the brand.  During his travels he would always introduce himself and say a heartfelt hello to fellow employees he found on the job.

Among Brian's many accomplishments, one that particularly stood out was the unforgettable day he bowled a perfect 300 game with his father on the first day of league after a long absence. It was a testament to his determination and a shining example of the bonds that can be built when we engage in the things we love with the people we hold dear. He recently rekindled his love of bowling and shared it with his father in law who joined him in multiple bowling leagues over the past few years.

Brian's legacy is one filled with kindness, an unwavering devotion to his family, and a steadfast passion for life. He is survived by his loving wife, Cynthia Jaynes, who remained by his side until his very last moment. His daughter Tiffany Wano and granddaughter Shay Osborne were at his bedside during his final days, assisting him with love compassion and respect. He is also survived by his sister Janice Edens of Rhode Island, his stepchildren, various cousins, nephews and nieces, his Aunt and 3 grandsons. His dogs, who were his loyal companions throughout his illness will deeply miss his presence (and his habit of sharing snacks with them all day).

As we mourn the passing of this extraordinary man, we are reminded of the lessons he taught us, the love he shared, and the memories he has left behind. Brian's life was a testament to the remarkable impact one person can make, and he will be forever remembered in the hearts of those he touched.
