Brett Edward Kliethermes, 51, of Jefferson City, passed away on Tuesday, April 4, 2023 at his home. He was born on October 24, 1971 to Ronald and Dixie (Leach) Kliethermes. He was united in marriage to Deborah Kay Shoults in Bonnots Mill on May 25, 1996.

Brett was a 1991 graduate of Fatima High School. He was employed with ABB (now Hitachi) for 29 years, where he painted transformers. Brett was a lover of all things "car": fast, muscle and sports cars. He was a Netflix connoisseur, and always let his family know which series to watch. He was a collector of movies, and avid on-line gamer, and enjoyed all types of music. Brett loved his cats, going fishing, and attending family functions. You could often find him with a jug of milk, cheese, or making a bet that he would eventually lose (he still owes some people cases of soda). Brett never met a stranger, and always had a story to tell. Most of all, Brett loved his family and will be missed by all that knew him.

He is survived by his loving wife: Deborah of Jefferson City; parents: Ronald and Dixie Kliethermes of Jefferson City; sisters: Dee Kempker (Brian) of Jefferson City and Rebecca Salmons (Ian) of Russellville; nieces and nephews: Chase and Alex Kempker; Brian, Daniel, Cameron and Abby Sweezer; Brianna and Garrett Shoults; and Cody and Tyler Bish; father and mother in-law: Ronnie and Bonnie Shoults of Linn; and brother and sisters-in-law: Ronnie Shoults Jr. and Tammy Sweezer of Linn

Friends will be received from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 15, 2023 at Houser-Millard Funeral Directors, with a Prayer Service beginning at 10:45 a.m. A funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m. Brett will be laid to rest at Link Cemetery in Wainwright, Missouri.

In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to the family to assist with funeral expenses.
