Brett C. Kester, a beloved son, brother, and uncle, passed away on January 12, 2025, at the age of 63 after a courageous battle with cancer. Brett is survived by his father, Bill; his brother, Bill Jr.; and two sisters, Vanessa and Kim; along with many friends and colleagues who cherished his kindness, determination, and generosity.
Brett was a cherished member of his family and a valued figure in the West Hollywood community. Known for his unwavering commitment to helping others and his passions for fitness and real estate, Brett left an indelible mark on everyone who knew him.
Born in Madrid, Spain, Brett moved to Los Angeles as a teenager, where he attended Woodrow Wilson High School. He later earned a Bachelor’s in Business Management from the University of Phoenix. Brett’s journey led him to dedicate his life to helping others achieve their health and fitness goals, and real estate where he worked tirelessly to find homes for families - shaping both industries with his expertise and care.
In the early 1990s, Brett began his fitness career at the West Hollywood Sports Connection (now John Reed Fitness), where he was a certified personal trainer and spinning instructor. For decades, he inspired community members to embrace health and wellness, always going above and beyond to support their goals.
In 2001, Brett followed in his mother’s footsteps, launching a successful real estate career with Sotheby’s International Realty in Beverly Hills. He excelled in the field, helping countless clients navigate the complexities of buying, selling, and investing in properties. Brett’s passion for his work was evident in every interaction, as he strove to make the process as seamless and stress-free as possible.
Brett’s resilience shone through as he battled cancer twice, demonstrating strength and determination throughout his journey. His positive spirit and dedication to his community never wavered, making him a source of inspiration to all who knew him.
A private memorial gathering will be held to celebrate Brett’s life.
