What a statement from Brett's obituary: 

After high school, Brett’s adult education continued at Stan’s Home Plate with classmates and friends old and new.

Not only was Stan's an education for Brett's, but everyone that ever had the privilege to walk through that door, as he taught others how to live a happier life. No matter what mood you were in, walking through the door at Stan's was always an experience that Brett would make ever happier. I for one, feel so enriched at knowing him and calling him friend over the years at Stan's, and although I haven't seen him in over 30 years, I feel an empty spot in my heart at learning of his passing. We will all have many amazing memories of his personality and love of life that we will treasure forever. Prayers to his family and anyone that has ever had the pleasure of meeting him, if only for a brief moment...

I worked with Brett and he was part of my team at Liberty. He always had a great attitude and wanted to help in anyway he could.  He had a great sense of humor and I miss his joke of the day!!!

My deepest condolences to his family and friends. He will be missed. 

I worked with Brett at Liberty Mutual and enjoyed the banter we shared. 

As stated in the obituary he would always end the conversation with “I love you man”.

To some those are just words or a catchy phrase. With Brett I do believe that he meant it. 

Brett was always consistent in his appreciation of the people who he worked with. 

I will miss our banter and kinship. 

The world is a little empty without his presence. He will without reservation be truly missed
