Brett Harrison Burns, 21, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday morning, March 27, 2025. He was born January 12, 2004, in Madison, Wisconsin to Tim and Deanna Burns.

Having grown up in Des Moines, IA and Naples, FL, Brett later settled in Fuquay Varina, North Carolina in 2018. He graduated Fuquay Varina High School class of 2022. After graduation, Brett found fulfilment as a machinist at Allied Automations and was acknowledged for his meticulous and masterful work.

Brett was known for his intelligence and his sense of humor. He was a sportsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. Brett applied his hands-on skills to 3D printing and gardening and liked to spend time with friends playing paintball and online games. He also savored the company of his dog Phoebe and his parakeet Steve.

Faith played a significant role in Brett’s life. Since childhood he had a keen awareness of God’s bigness. Brett came to saving faith in Jesus at a young age, was baptized at age 10, and participated in the youth group at Peak City Church. He especially enjoyed missional outreach. Brett’s favorite song was ‘The Voice of Truth’ by Casting Crowns. His whole life, Brett was surrounded by people who deeply loved him. His family looks forward to the day when they will reunite with Brett in glory.

Brett is survived by his dad Tim and mom Deanna, his older brothers Joseph and James, his beloved sister Syvon, his grandparents Butch and Linda Burns, and grandma Mary Bachman, along with many other family members.

A memorial service will be held Tuesday, April 8 at 6:30PM at Grace Church Cary (3725 Kildaire Farm Rd, Cary, NC 27518 ). Flowers are appreciated.
