Brendan's obituary

Brendan Lee Gall, 41 passed away March 9, 2018 in Pueblo, CO. He was born October 16, 1976 to Melanie and Lonnie Runner in Canon City, CO. He lived in Custer County for the last 23 years. He had his own drywall business for many years and worked in the drywall business for several additional years. Brendan loved to fish even as a young kid and loved the outdoors. He loved riding his dirt bike and was known for riding in his Crocs and shorts while dodging the yucca plants and “greasy goat grapes.” He spent as much of his free time in the outdoors as possible, enjoying camping, boating, water sports, horseback riding, hunting, etc. He loved his kids and would often have his sons and many of his “bonus” kids with him on his adventures. Many knew him as “dad.” He was a kind, caring and giving man. Most of the people who knew him have stories of him helping with some project, task, or need. He would give freely of his time and possessions whenever he could.

He married Jessie Mort and they had two sons, Tim and Alex. Later, in 2013, he married Julia McMullen, whom he had known since childhood and in turn became dad to Ray Perez. Brendan had a full life and fit in many adventures during his short life.

Brendan is survived by his wife, Julia; sons, Timothy (Shana) Gall, Raymond Perez, Alex Gall; brother, Kevin (Gwyn) Runner; grandson, Rylan Gall; niece Kylie Runner, nephew Konner Runner; aunts, Marjorie Gall, Patricia (Shane) Liberty, uncle Russell (T’Lene) Gall; and many numerous cousins, bonus sons and daughters and friends that he called family. He was preceded in death by his mom, Melanie, grandparents Larry and Jennifer Gall, uncle Richard Gall, nephew Kristopher Runner, and “bonus” son Mikey Neal. A celebration of life will be held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, March 24, 2018 at the Custer County School in the west gym with a luncheon immediately following in the MPR (cafeteria) of the school. The family would like to send special thanks to the Sangre de Cristo Hospice House for the wonderful care they provided to Brendan in his last days. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Brendan’s memory to the hospice house in Pueblo.
