There are so many stories that I could tell about Brendan. we use to spend a lot of time together out at the lake together with our boats. I can remember Lefty trolling for marshmallows or the time that River's pole got bored and swam away! Brendan was always there when you needed a hand. Brendan and I use to swap recipes if you can believe to grown men doing that. There was the time that I showed up with the patrol car and you were buying Vern Collins bus. You mooned me and Vern and his girlfriend were so sure that you were all going to jail! I still laugh about to this day. You were there for me when things were tough at the Sheriffs office and I needed a getaway. We took a trip to balman with our families, dogs and pinkey. Thank you so much for everything you have done for me and my family Brendan. You are truly a brother and another father to my kids. Love ya brother, I will miss you, but I'm glad you are now at peace.
RIP my dear sweet Brendan. We met when I moved into the house next door to you with my three kids, Juliane, Russell and Nicole. You and Russell hit it off right away. You spent much of your time with our family at the dinner table and riding dirt bicycles with Russell. Oh the stories I could tell. I loaned you the money to buy a car and you paid every penny back. That's the kind of boy you were. As time moved on and elementary school gave way to Jr High and then High School, adult life began. Dean was a drywall contractor and you went to work for Dean. He taught you the trade and you learned more from others as well. You had the honesty and integrity and the "eye" for perfection. Dean missed working with you when it became too difficult to continue working. Even though you had branched out on your own, you and Dean would still team up to help each other from time to time. When Dean was building our log home, Brendan, you came and helped him raise the rafters. More than the help, just having you there to work with meant so much to us, Dean especially. You were like another Son to us. ..... Now that it is time to say goodbye, it is so very difficult. But we know it is necessary. So our dear sweet Brendan we say, I love you and we will see you again someday in God's Kingdom. You were loved by many and will be missed, Always and Forever, Charlene and Dean Bradburn.
I loved Brendan, he was such a giving and caring man. He was more of a father to my daughter than her biological. He will be greatly missed by many people as he touched so many lives. Julia, Tim, Alex and Ray, I am so sorry for your loss and I pray God comforts you in the months to come. Hold on to the good memories to help you cope. I love you all.
At about 11 one night, I got a call that I had to go pick up my daughter in Longmont which was four hours away. I called Brendan to let him know his "bonus daughter" Uriah needed to be picked up, I was just venting. But Brendan in his living way said "come pick me up" he wanted to make sure she was ok and that I made the trip ok, that's how he was, he made sure everyone was ok. So we set out in my VW Bug, listening to classic rock he was so find of at the time. On the way we stopped in Castle Rock for gas, and Brendan being is joking self told the clerk him and his sister was going to pick up his daughter, the clerk thinking he was just making small talk nodded and when I entered the store the clerk looked puzzled. Brendan told him "this is my twin sister," the clerk looked us over, shook his head and said ok! I chuckled and we walked out to continue our trip. On the way back, we stopped at the same gas station and the same clerk was there, be seen us common in the store, Brendan smiled at gun and said, you remember us this is my twin sister. The clerk just busted up laughing, for some reason btw didn't believe us! Brendan lived telling that story about himself and his Mexican sister.
