Brenda, born April 29th, 1944 in Mobile, Alabama was the youngest and only daughter of three children. She was dearly loved by her parents but sadly lost her mom to rheumatic heart 2 days before her 9th birthday. Brenda later recounted that her extended family along with her brothers and father were a source of strength to her and she was loved well despite the loss. At the age of 15 Brenda married her sweetheart Alton Wiggins and the following year gave birth to their first child Clint Eugene on Jan 17th, 1961. Kimberly Ann was born Aug. 2, 1962 and Gregory Wayne Mar. 24, 1965. On June 10, 1966 Brenda & Alton would face the devastating loss of their son Clint in an accident. Brenda was 22 when he died, but showed a courage beyond her years and continued on for her children and husband. This strength was a part of who she was and defined her life. At 28, on Oct 23, 1972, she gave birth to another daughter Nicole Rae. Brenda's life was spent caring for her children and her husband; they were to the day she died her everything. As her children grew her role changed and she happily stepped into the role of grandma. Brenda continued to care for her kids by loving her grandchildren; a role she was most proud of. She was babysitter, caretaker, and constant encourager. Those gifts of love & support would extend later to the children that her daughter & son in law fostered. In her eyes they were all her grand babies and she loved each of them well.
Brenda's strong spirit, ability to overcome adversity, strength and love will always be remembered. She was a fighter & survivor, forever hopeful and always up for an adventure despite what challenges she faced. Her greatest joys were her pets, going for drives and being in the mountains, but above all else it was her family. She will be dearly missed.
A private memorial was held at the home of Scott & Nicole Masters on Feb. 6th, 2021.
