Brenda Wahlen, 80, of Metairie, LA, passed away peacefully on November 21, 2022.

Brenda was born on March 14, 1942  to John and Elaine Ellerbusch in New Orleans, LA.  Sister to Sandra Johnson (Elwood) and John P. Ellerbusch (Ann).  Mother to Thomas H. Anderson Jr. (Faith).

Brenda was married to Adolph "A.C." Wahlen Jr. for 41 years and the love they shared was inspirational.  She often said that she considered him "larger than life" and cherished the time they spent together.  Stepmother to Cheryl Hages (Richard), Adolph Wahlen III (Jennifer), Eric Wahlen (Jan).  Grandmother to Matthew Anderson, Ryan Anderson, Nicole Hammett (Trevor), Richard Hages (Lindsey), Charles Hages (Kelli), Jessica McAfee (Thomas), Andrew Wahlen, Connor Wahlen, Erica Olson (Olaf), Josh Wahlen, Jason Wahlen (Sydney).

Brenda learned her love of cooking from her mother, Elaine, and the two of them created many delicious recipes.  Many family memories are tied to gathering together too prepare and share a great meal.  She and her mom were the best of friends!

Brenda and A.C. loved to take long rides and often spent hours cruising city park and the lakefront with a stop for a snack along the way.  From cruising to Daytona Bike Week on a Harley, to wandering around the country in a friends RV, to local cruises in their Mercury Marquis they enjoyed a journey that spanned four decades.  A.C. passed on Nov 11th, and now they are reunited so their journey continues!

The family would like to thank the staff at Bayside Healthcare Center for keeping her comfortable and providing a caring and relaxing  environment that allowed her to put aside fears and pain and enjoy a time of peace.

As per Brenda's wishes, no formal services will be held.  The family is thankful for the many friends that have reached out with thoughts and prayers.
