Brenda Cushman Varner, age 76, of Pinson, Alabama died Saturday, January 16th, 2021. Brenda was a long time member of Pinson United Methodist Church. She graduated from Hewitt-Trussville High School in 1963. Brenda worked as a Dental Assistant for Periodontal Associates until her retirement in 2007. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, James Edward and Elizabeth Parker Cushman, her sister, Linda Cushman Darden and her husband of 43 years Esman “Lanny” Varner. Survivors include sons, Gregory Varner (Karen) and Clay M. Varner; daughter, Lea Ann Lemley (Jake); brother, Richard Cushman; sister-in-law, Lisa Weber (Dudley); grandchildren Christian, Elizabeth, and Nathan Lemley and Jackson and Tucker Varner; and numerous nieces and nephews. There will be a graveside service at Jefferson Memorial in Trussville, AL on Saturday January 23rd at 1 pm. The family will be accepting visitors at the funeral home prior to the service from 12-1 pm. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to Pinson United Methodist Church (407 Bud Holmes Rd.) or to the UAB Kidney Clinic (1915 6th Ave. S.).
