Brenda's obituary
It is with profound sadness that we announce the death of Brenda St John, who passed away on January 10, 2025. Born on July 5, 1988, Brenda was vivacious, welcoming, and known for her carefree humor. She cherished being caring towards others, a quality that made her universally adored.
Brenda is survived by her supportive family: her mother, Nina St John; her father, Richard St John; her sister, Vanessa Ortego; and her brothers, Jose Prieto, Erik St John, and Bryan St John. She shared a tight bond with her nephew, Gabriel Currier. She will also be missed by her nieces, Alyssa and Ava Prieto, and nephew, Kruz Prieto. Her dog, Riza, who was a dear and constant companion in her life journey, will profoundly miss her.
Brenda's educational journey began at Sam Houston High School, Arlington, TX, from where she graduated in 2006. She had aspirations of one day becoming a Psychologist. In 2024, she started a promising career at Mass General Brigham, exhibiting her unwavering determination and passionate work ethic. She relocated to Lawrence, MA, in 2023 where she established a loving abode with her boyfriend, Ali Nickpour.
Brenda had diverse interests. Her love for food was evident in her fondness for her mom's tamales and pozole, while her favorite beverage was Dr Pepper. She was an ardent music lover, particularly captivated by the bands Gojira, Nine Inch Nails, and Queens of the Stone Age. Brenda loved Anime. Her favorite shows were Jojo's Bizarre Adventure, Jujutsu Kaisen, and Fullmetal Alchemist.
Beyond her love for Anime, she also enjoyed movies, with Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure, Bloodsport, and Blade featuring prominently in her list of favorites. Brenda's love for games was equaled only by her love for recreation, Mario Party, and Stardew Valley being her personal favorites to play. Her recreational activities included gaming and watching movies. She also recently got back into fishkeeping and had two aquariums she was working to fill with beautiful fish.
Her favorite vacation destination was California, a destination that mirrored her colorful personality. She had a special affection for the color teal, a color that reflected her vibrant spirit.
The overarching lesson Brenda had to share with the world was to "Be excellent to each other", a creed she lived by and demonstrated in her daily interactions. Through her vibrant spirit, Brenda leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and empathy. She will be deeply missed but remembered fondly and often.
