Lacy so sorry for your loss. I surely know and understand how you feel. I trust Jesus will help you deal with it, I know he did me.
Still your friend,

The biggest thing my Mom would say to me is "You're just like your Father". Granted, I am his spitting image and can "Pettit Debate" , aka argue without a grudge with the best of them, I do hope that I have inherited at least a little bit of my personality from her. She taught me independence, adaptability, hard work, and how to get back up when the world knocks you down. Yes Mom, I definitely got your stubbornness. (🤔 Well maybe that came from both of you.) One of the biggest things I hope I inherited at least a little of is your humor. Quick wit and sass should replace Sue as your middle name. She would pick on my dates and embarrass them with a cheeky grin and a twinkle in her eyes. ( Yes Toll you still owe her a lap dance). No matter how stressful or sad you may be Mom could find something to make you smile or laugh. Even as her own health declined she still had jokes and pranks. The quip about Dad after I gave her a bath can't be washed from my brain. TMI Mom, TMI 😂.
You saying I'm just like Dad put me in good company. I remember Grammy often saying the same about you so I guess it's not such a bad thing after all. I Love you and Thank you for more than words could ever express.

One of my fondest memories of my Mom was the summers I spent on the Bookmobile with her. I wasn't even school-age yet and Mom would take me with her as she traveled the county. We went to the most remote parts of Marshall County. She went to farms and summer camps on tiny dirt roads in this massive delivery van to bring books to kids who didn't have access to the library during the summer. I made friends with kids I would not see again until I reached junior high and high school and had them remember that my mom was the book lady who came to their house. Mostly I remember my Mom introducing me to a lifelong love: reading. I can only imagine that she introduced quite a few other Marshall County kids to the same thing.
