We are heartbroken by the sudden passing of my mother, Brenda Ivey, on Wednesday, September 18th from an LMCA stroke. Released from hospital just a day prior for a COPD flare-up with fluid around her lungs and heart, Mom was in great spirits. We shared a joyful evening—my fiancé Jacob cooked dinner, and she stayed up late laughing with grandson Cody about old family memories. I helped with her adjusted nighttime meds, hugged her, and exchanged "I love yous"—unaware it was our last. Despite losing her left leg above the knee to a blood clot last September, Brenda remained fiercely independent, making her own breakfast and refusing to be a burden. Saturday, after work, I found her unresponsive at home. The massive stroke in her brain's main left artery was beyond treatment window. No prior funeral plans or funds left us devastated—my sons Tristan and Cody are heartbroken; she made us all feel so loved.
Service Request instead of flowers, donations will fund a beautiful Houston memorial (details soon). Share your stories of Brenda to keep her spirit alive. Every bit helps us honor her. Thank you,
Melissa Rogers
