Brenda's obituary
Brenda Marielle Fredericks (August 11, 1956 - May 3, 2022) passed from this life into eternal life on Tuesday, May 3, 2022. She passed peacefully in her sleep with her daughter, Samantha, and loving partner, Bill, by her side.
Born and raised in Rockaway Township New Jersey, she graduated Morris Hills High School and pursued a degree in business. In 1981, Brenda made the move to South Carolina and spent much of her life in the Carolinas and Georgia. Brenda loved the beach, and often talked about her travels to Aruba, St. Maarten and St. Lucia as her favorite destinations. It is fitting that it was a beautiful night on the ocean in Myrtle Beach when she passed, exactly how she would've wanted.
A woman with a truly special soul, Brenda radiated kindness and positivity wherever she went. Although known for her gift of gab, Brenda was also an excellent listener who was always there to cheer you up. Whether chatting up strangers in the grocery store when they seemed lonely, picking up the phone to reconnect with a friend or singing “Lion Sleeps Tonight” at the top her lungs because it made us all laugh, she just seemed to know.
Brenda loved The Rolling Stones, ripe tomatoes, smooth driving cars and circus peanuts - but she had a real passion for holidays. Birthdays, Christmas, Easter - she made everything more fun. One year she even concocted an elaborate scavenger hunt with a series of riddles resulting in a road trip to Disney World the same day. It was clear that doing things for, and thinking of others, brought her immense joy. Perhaps that’s why she had such a way of connecting with those around her. Everyone felt Brenda's warmth and passion.
Brenda is survived by her partner Bill, two adult children Mariel and Samantha, mother Bernadette Fredericks, her siblings Bernadette, George, sister-in-law Diane, three grandchildren Jameson, Jonathan and Wyatt as well as friends, family and loved ones across the globe. While she will be forever missed in this life, Brenda's unwavering faith, and close, personal relationship with God means that she is finally home. Her well-worn Bible was beside her when she passed and written in her handwriting, in the margins, were the words “Love. Peace. Joy. Soul is satisfied.”
The family will host a Celebration of Life later this summer, please stay tuned for details. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the American Cancer Society or Epilepsy Foundation.
