Brandon's obituary
Brandon P. Petitto, 38, passed away on February 17, 2024, in Strongsville, Ohio.
He was born on June 19, 1985, in Cleveland, Ohio to Paul Petitto and Penka Smith. Brandon is the baby of the family with his older brother Paul being just two years older. Brandon’s childhood was filled with the love of drumming, music, baking, grandparents, cousins, and friends. However, one of Brandon’s greatest loves was for his golden retrievers. Once he got his first golden, Kristy, then Kasha, Taya, Libby, Bella and Lexi, there was no looking back. Brandon has loved every one of his goldens with the purest of hearts. He always said they looked into his soul and spoke to him.
He loved music and was an exceptional drummer. Brandon’s passion for drumming was unstoppable. He played in many bands and it all started with The In-Subs – his first band in middle school. Next were the high school bands, Scared to Death, Simple Times, and fall.in.line. Then moving forward he was in Côte d’Ivoire, The Wild Cats, Irrelevant Elephants, IAMTHEINTERNET and The Come Along and Eat it. The connection Brandon shared with his fellow band members was unbreakable.
Brandon attended Bay High School in Bay Village, graduating in the class of 2003. He then attended Kent State University and Cleveland State University where he obtained a bachelor’s degree in journalism, Summa Cum Laude. He continued on to receive a master’s degree in Adult Learning and Development. He recently worked for Laserfiche as a Junior LMS Administrator.
After Brandon started his first big time job, he met Brittany Wiseman on July 5, 2013. The first date was the best, but the second date was never to be talked about again. Over the next three years Brandon and Brittany continued to build a life together. They enjoyed traveling, movies, restaurants, hiking, kayaking, and Target browsing dates. On September 14, 2017, Brandon and Brittany were married on the balcony of a beachfront home in Outer Banks, NC with their closest family and friends.
On September 29, 2019, the next great adventure began for Brandon and Brittany when they found out they were expecting a baby. Over the next nine months, there were incredible memories created sharing with family and friends the amazing news. And if you know Brandon, you know that he loves to put on a show for these big announcements. On June 1, 2020, Peter Drew Petitto was born, a carbon copy of Brandon. Brandon was the best father a son could ask for. Protecting Peter became Brandon’s top priority. Over the next three and half years, life has been filled with the sweetest giggles, smiles, trucks, and block building. The best parts of Brandon will always live on in Peter.
Brandon had a unique sense of humor that made the funniest people he knew cry laughing. He was quietly the smartest person in the room. His friends weren’t just friends, they were his brothers and sisters, and the positive impact he had on their lives will live on in their hearts forever. Brandon’s best man, Bob Hawkins, shared this and it couldn’t be truer, “Brandon was the most interesting guy you’ve ever met disguised as the least interesting guy you’ve ever met”.
Brandon is survived by his wife Brittany Petitto; son Peter Petitto; parents Paul (Christine) Petitto, and Penka (William) Smith; siblings Paul C. (Samantha) Petitto, and Miranda (Brandon) Pedersen- Towne; and nieces and nephews Hazel, Quinn, Owen, Danny, Evan, Lucia, and Stella. Nephew to Christo (Pamela) Kamburoff, and cousin to Ashton and Kenton. Nephew to Jim (Lynda) Petitto, Ross (Kathie) Petitto, and Josie Aslan and countless cousins and second cousins. Brandon always loved the fact that he was lucky grandchild number 13.
