Brandon's obituary
With a heavy heart, we announce the passing of Brandon "Jackyl" Himes. Born on October 11, 1988, Brandon left us too soon on December 19, 2023. Known affectionately as Jackyl to some, his immediate family always knew him as Brandon.
Brandon leaves behind his parents Richard and Donna Himes and his sister Andrea Arant. His absence will leave a void that cannot be filled. His memory will always be in the hearts of those who loved him.
A reception to celebrate Brandon's life will be held on January 19, 2024, from 2:30-5:30PM at the Michigan Maritime Museum. This gathering will allow those who knew Brandon to share stories, remember his life, and pay their respects. This is a drop in event that you may stay as long as you wish and the museum will be open to tour if you choose before or during the event.
In lieu of flowers, donations are being accepted for the Gateway Charitable Foundation. The URL for this fund is https://everloved.com/life-of….
Brandon was a caring individual to those he loved. He rarely smiled but when he did you knew something was going right or that you were doing something right. He was passionate member of his medieval guild, going as far as making his own chainmail, weapons and clothing.
One of his greatest accomplishments was his 20-year involvement with his guild, a traveling LARP (live action role play). His zeal for this activity is a testament to his passion and pursuit.
As we mourn the loss of Brandon, we take solace in the love and warmth he brought into our lives, and his memory will forever be cherished in our hearts.
