Brandon's obituary

Brandon Bernard 39 of Hanover, NH passed away July 27, 2021. He was born August 30, 1981 the son of Patrick and Marianne (Fitzgerald) Bernard. He graduated from Dover High School class of 2000 then attended New Hampshire University graduating in 2005. He met his wife Erin Bernard (Simmons) at college in 2002 they married June 2006 and just celebrated 15 years of marriage.

Brandon's childhood best friend Jackson passed away in 2003 from an overdose this had such a huge impact on his life that Brandon decided to become a substance abuse councilor. He dedicated the past 16 years to the fight against substance abuse. Brandon enjoyed the outdoors mostly kayaking, hiking, four wheeling and fishing. He developed a program to help addicts that incorporated outdoor activities. He was working toward his life long dream of opening a rehabilitation center that was more like camping.

He had tremendous amout of love for animals especially his dog Juco. He was a strong advocate against animal abuse and worked with the human society and rescues. Brandon often would foster animals until forever homes could be found. 

 Brandon is predeceased by his mother Marianne (Fitzgerald) Bernard, paternal grandparents Allen and Margaret (Collins) Bernard, maternal great grandparents Glen and Deborah (Clark) Kender, paternal great grandparents Benjamin and Elizabeth ( Andes) Bernard, close friend Jackson Hanson. 

 Surviving in addition to his wife Erin  Bernard (Simmons) of Hanover, his father Patrick Bernard of Dover, maternal grandparents Gregory and Sandra (Kender) Fitzgerald of Dover.

 Celebration of life will be held August 14 from 2-5pm at 153 Dover Point Rd Dover NH.
