Brandon's obituary

Brandon Michael Bergsma PFC, 26, died unexpectedly November 16, 2020 at Fort Bliss Army Base. He was born April 11, 1994 in Downey, CA. The son of Christian Bergsma and Laurice Bonham.
Brandon enlisted in the Army in August 2019 where he was awarded xxx Marksmanship while in basic training at Fort Jackson in South Carolina. From there he went to Ft. Benning in Georgia for secondary training to become Bradly Tank Mechanic. He was then stationed at Ft. Bliss Texas as a Bradly Tank Mechanic. He was know by his unit as a hard worker who always had grease on his hands, and who went above and beyond what was asked of him. At times he was even called upon on a number of occasions to help fix the cars of others in his battalion. He was also know for being the one to have everyone laughing and trying to cheer everyone up when it was rough.

He loved his family and friends with all his heart, nothing in the world was more important to him than his loved ones.

He was predeceased by his beloved Grandfather Arthur Bergsma and is survived by his Parents, Grandmothers, Sheila Bergsma and Diane Savage and Grandfather Rick Bonham. In addition to his many beloved Family and Friends.

Funeral arrangements are being handled by the Chapel of Memories and will be Friday December 4, 2020. The viewing will be from 8:00am to 11am followed by the service of remembrance from 11:00am to 12:00pm. The gravesite memorial with full Military Honors will be held at Artesia Cemetery at 1:00 pm with Military Honors at 1:15pm
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider donations to the Honoring Our Fallen. A non profit organization that is dedicated to serving our nation's fallen and the families of these heroes have left behind by providing comprehensive support. They have been an amazing help to the family during these difficult days. We would like to give back to Honor Brandon and help the other military that have lost their loved ones too soon.
