Brandon's obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Brandon Joseph Aurori, on April 13, 2024. Brandon fought a rare brain disease for 2 1/2 months, called Leukoencephalopathy. Born on October 4, 1985, (only 38 years old)  Brandon lived a life full of kindness, love, selflessness, warmth and especially humor. With his warm and peaceful presence, he was a beacon of motivation for others, setting an example for how to be a better person.

Brandon attended West Essex High School in North Caldwell, NJ, graduating in 2004. He furthered his education at the Rochester Institute of Technology, in NY from 2004-2006. He earned his Bachelor of Business Degree at Montclair State College, NJ in 2010. A spirited entrepreneur and lover of exotic fast cars, he opened up his business, Exclusive Auto Source, Inc., in 2008.

Brandon's personal life was filled with love and achievements. He was an enthusiastic soccer and ice hockey player, and skilled, fearless snowboarder. He had a multitude of close friends, calling them "his family that he chose".

In 2016, he met the love of his life, Megan Shields.   It didn’t take long for them to realize they had met each other’s soulmates, wanting  to spend their lives together.  They purchased their first home  just 6 months after meeting, and were engaged less than 1.5 years later.   They wed in a beautiful Catholic ceremony in September 2019 in front of close family and friends, followed by another (shorter) ceremony but large, unforgettable fairytale-like reception on November 1st.   They decided to relocate to San Diego, CA shortly there after due to Megan’s (unexpected) job offer/transfer.  After renting for a year, exploring the area, they purchased their second home in San Marcos, CA (north county, San Diego ) in 2020.

Brandon's love for animals was undeniable, as seen when he got his first dog, Misty, in 1998, followed by Crystal and Ruby, all Weimaraner’s. After marriage, he developed an intense bond with his beagles, Buddy and Bella. He didn't even like leaving them with a sitter.

The spirit of Brandon's giving was apparent to all who knew him, but especially on April 12, 2024, when he became a lifesaving organ donor, saving three lives, leaving behind a legacy of kindness and selflessness. His act in donating, showcased the enduring warmth and compassion he had throughout his life.

In lieu of flowers, those wishing to honor Brandon's memory and love for animals, can donate to the "American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA)" or the "Best Friends Animal Society".

Brandon is survived by his wife, Megan Shields, of San Marcos CA; his mother, Beverly J. Aurori, nee Bormann of Homosassa, Fl.; his father, Dr. Kevin C. Aurori of Mahwah, NJ; his twin brothers, Frank and Eddie Aurori also from Mahwah, NJ, and Ryan Aurori and his wife Paige O'Malley, of Lanham, MD; his father-in-law, Michael Shields of Texas; his brother-in-law, Mikie Shields and his wife Cassandra and their new daughter, Penelope of CA.
