Brandon's obituary

Brandon Abren, affectionately known as Big Abe, was born on April 17, 1983, in Hopkinsville, Kentucky, and passed away on August 13, 2025, in Louisville, Kentucky. He was the beloved son of James and Paulette Abren, devoted husband to Taunika Abren, proud brother to seven siblings: Cynthia Briggs, Aundrez (Deidra) Abren, Labarron (Brett) Abren, Darrin (Terri) Abren, Quinten (Leah Francis) Abren, Paul-Gregory (Tollisa) Abren, and Broderick Abren; countless “brothers” not bound by blood, but by loyalty and love.

Big Abe was a father to six beautiful children: Aniyah, Braydon, Braylynn, and Brandon Jr., as well as stepchildren Daetoia and Teondra, and 2 lovely grandchildren- Heaven & Nevaeh. He was “Unc” to over 30 nieces and nephews—any child near him was in good hands. And while we won’t start any family debates, let’s just say… he was top 2 as an uncle, and we’ll let everyone else figure out the rest.

Big Abe was a man of principle, a protector by nature, and the heartbeat of any room he entered. Hard-working and devoted, he lived for his family, but he also lived for the joy of life—laughs, music, and a little two-step when the mood was right. Being with him meant you were going to laugh until your sides hurt and leave with a story worth retelling.

He leaves behind a legacy stitched with love, loyalty, and laughter—a legacy that will echo in the hearts of those who knew him, in the music that made him move, and in the smiles of his children.

Rest easy, Big Abe. You were one of a kind, and we’ll keep your dance floor warm until we meet again.
