Bradley's obituary

Bradley "Brad" Crawford, 65, of Paris, Michigan, passed away on Friday, June 27, 2025.

He was born on July 28, 1959, in Fremont, the son of Irving and Barbara (Schrader) Crawford. On April 12, 1980, Brad was united in marriage to the love of his life, Constance “Connie” Stopczynski, in White Cloud.

Brad worked alongside his father at Crawford Foods, serving the communities of Baldwin, White Cloud, and Kaleva for many years until the sale of the family business. He later worked for Denny’s ValuLand in Big Rapids and Central Michigan University, where he served as a Manager in Retail and Food Services. For over 15 years, Brad made the daily commute to CMU, always providing for his family without complaint and with unwavering dedication. Brad had several jobs throughout his lifetime, and most recently, retired from Acosta Sales and Marketing.

A devoted public servant, Brad served as President of the Big Jackson School Board for over 25 years, advocating tirelessly to ensure that his children, and all students, had access to the best education possible.

Brad loved the outdoors, especially pontoon boat rides and fishing. A loyal and passionate fan of the Detroit Lions, he never missed a game, watching, recording, and rewatching their biggest moments with joy. His humor, infectious smile, and kind-hearted nature were felt by everyone who knew him. More than anything, he adored his family, especially his grandchildren, who were the light of his life.

Brad is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Connie Crawford; children: Jeannine (Joshua) Worden, Joseph (Kristen) Crawford, and Jessica Crawford; grandchildren: Logan Wilkinson and Morgan Crawford; brothers: Brian (Kari) Crawford, Brent (Trish) Crawford, and Bruce (Joddie) Crawford; mother-in-law: Arlene Stopczynski; sister-in-laws: Patricia Stopczynski, Victoria (Robert) Newell, Jacqueline Stopczynski (Ron Sietsema), and Sally Stopczynski; along with many beloved aunts, nieces, nephews, extended family, and cherished friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Irving and Barbara Crawford; father-in-law: Stephen Stopczynski; son-in-law: Matthew Wilkinson Jr.; daughter-in-law: Sarah Crawford; and brothers-in-law: Kenneth and Thomas Stopczynski.

Funeral Services will be conducted on Thursday, July 3, 2025, at 11:00 A.M. at Daggett Gilbert Funeral Home, Big Rapids. Visitation will take place on Wednesday, July 2, from 5:00–8:00 P.M., also at the funeral home. He will be laid to rest at Clark Cemetery at 3:00 P.M. in Fremont.
