Bradley's obituary
Bradley “Grizz” Thomas Cimmiyotti of Hermiston passed away on August 22, 2021 at Providence Hospital Portland, Oregon at the young age of 66 in the presence of his wife, three children and three of his grandchildren.
Bradley was born on July 22, 1955 in The Dalles, OR to John (Mick) Cimmiyotti and Maxine (Norris) Cimmiyotti.
He was the oldest of 8 children. He grew up in Arlington and later his parents moved them to Huntington where he graduated from Highschool in 1974.
His family then moved to Umatilla, OR and he began working for Marlette Homes. Shortly, after, Bradley met the love of his life, Bonnie (Rash) Cimmiyotti. The both knew that they were meant for each other and were married just 5 short months later.
In May of 1977 they welcomed their first born son, who they named Jeremy Steven Cimmiyotti or “The Worm” as Bradley would say. He was his dad’s pride and joy. This in in September 1979 they welcomed their 2nd child; a little girl that they named Sarah Mae Cimmiyotti, better known as “Muffins” by her dad. She was dad’s girl and used to love going fishing with him. Then in February 1982 they welcomed their last but certainly not least, son; Jacob Bradley Cimmiyotti. Jacob brought excitement to everyone around him. He completed their family, who would later be known as the “Griswolds”.
They raised the kids in the umatilla/hermiston area until later moving to Lexington where he enjoyed going out shooting the 22’s with the boys, hiking and taking care of his garden and animals.
Then later bought a home in Hermiston, OR and settled down. Here they would spend time with his wife and grandkids.
They became grandparents in 1997 and Bradley was on top of the world, He was known for his love for his grandkids and would always tell everyone he wanted to be like his grandpa Norris. He said He was the best grandpa a kid could ask for. I think everyone knows him would agree that he definitely was the best grandpa there ever was!
They went on to have 17 grandkids and 7 great-grandkids.
In 2006 he left Marlette and joined his son Jeremy on the Railroad. He was known for his hard work, dedication to his coworkers and job as well as all his famous stories.
In 2019 they sold their home and bought a place out at Hat Rock; the perfect place for Bradley where he could fish and hike.
After 15 years on the Railroad, Bradley then retired and he and his wife started hiking and kayaking and going to auctions.
He would always bring home something for everyone, but most of all he would buy every piece of fishing gear he could get his hands on and toys for the grandkids.
Bradley enjoyed going hunting and fishing with his brothers, sons and nephews. There was always good stories to be heard when he returned home. There were those “what happens at Elk Camp stays at Elk Camp” kind of stories as well that would slowly slip out over the years.
He definitely left a name for himself here on this earth. He was one of the kindest, most loving, strongest men that I’ve ever known— Bonnie.
His love and and dedication to his children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews was incredible. He was the best father and grandfather anyone could ask for.
He will be missed beyond measure but will live on in everyone of his grandkids and great-grandkids. They will forever be “fishing for Grandpa”.
He leave behind his loving wife of 45 years, Bonnie (Rash) Cimmiyotti; son Jeremy (Tylynn) daughter Sarah Cimmiyotti, son Jacob (Cyndie), and a whole tribe of 17 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
Sisters: Judy Robinson, husband Roger; Marcia Anderson, husband Larry; Brothers: Scott, wife Renae; Philip, wife Debbie; Blake; Pat, wife Rebecca (Becki) and 21 nieces and nephews.
