Bradford's obituary
Bradford Dale "Brad" Spring, 75, passed away on February 15, 2025, in Tampa, Florida at home from effects of CBD ( corticobasal degeneration syndrome) neurological terminal degenerative disease . Born On November 16, 1949, in West Hartford, Connecticut, Brad lived a life marked by passion, determination, and an unwavering commitment to those he loved—both people and animals alike.
Brad's early years were spent in Connecticut, where he attended Conard High School in West Hartford before continuing his education at Cheshire Prep School. A natural athlete, he excelled in both lacrosse and football. He carried this passion for sports into his college years at Siena College in Loudonville, New York, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science. At Siena, Brad was captain of the lacrosse team and lettered in football during an undefeated freshman season.
In 1973, Brad moved to Tampa at the invitation of Stu Lang, founder of Lang Pools, to oversee the company's above-ground pool division. After fulfilling his commitment to Lang Pools, he pursued his dream of entrepreneurship by co-founding Dream Pool Company. This was inspired by his summer work during college breaks working for the “ Marlboro Man” building pools in Hartford, Connecticut . His journey in construction had begun years earlier while working summer jobs building pools in Hartford. Later, Brad established Spring Bobcat Service, a grading and construction company that evolved into New Earthtones, Inc., doing business as Advance Bobcat. Over the course of 46 years, he became a respected specialist in his field, operating across multiple counties in Florida. Even after stepping away from the business due to his diagnosis in 2021, his influence remained deeply felt.
Brad’s presence was larger than life. He was known for his boundless energy and enthusiasm—whether on the field, at work, or on the dance floor. His love for dancing was legendary among those who knew him, as was his kindness and positivity. A true champion for animals, Brad was a dedicated supporter of the Humane Society of Tampa Bay throughout his life.
