Bonnie's obituary
Bonnie Jean Nowak, beloved wife of Richard Nowak and devoted mother to Paul and Sean, passed away on July 2, 2024, following a courageous battle with metastatic breast cancer. She spent her final moments peacefully at home in Huntington Beach, with her husband Richard by her side.
Born in Colorado Springs, CO, in 1957 to John Micheli and Patricia Faraca, Bonnie later moved to Rowland Heights, CA, where she lived for most of her life in various areas of Southern California. She attended school in the Rowland Heights School District before furthering her education at Chaffey College in Rancho Cucamonga and Golden West College, where she graduated with honors and earned an Associate of Arts degree. Throughout her career, she worked at several places, most notably McMaster-Carr, where she met the love of her life, Richard. They married and enjoyed nearly 43 wonderful years together.
Bonnie was known for her kindness and generous spirit. She dedicated the majority of her career to education and library technical services, spending nearly two decades at the Huntington Beach Public Library. There, she served patrons while embracing her passion for education and literature. She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Bonnie was preceded in death by her mother Patricia, father John, and son Paul. She is survived by her husband Richard, her brothers Andrew and David, her son Sean, her daughter-in-law Charlene, and her grandchildren Selene, Alessia, and Brantley, who will always cherish the love she brought to their lives.
In her memory, Bonnie’s family wishes to celebrate the joy she brought to others rather than dwell on the sadness of her passing. A celebration of life will be held at the Huntington Beach Public Library on April 12th, with the family welcoming friends from 1 PM to 5 PM. Flowers and memorial gifts are appreciated, but not required.
