Bonnie Elizabeth Cole “Liz” of Quakertown, Pa passed away peacefully on April 28th 2024 at St Lukes Hospital Quakertown, at the age of 83 surrounded by her family.

Liz was born on October 18th, 1940 in Quakertown to Edwin and Sarah Flexer. She graduated from Quakertown High School in 1958 and Lankenau School of Nursing, Philadelphia Pa in 1961. She then became a rehab nurse in Canada where she met her husband, Edwin Cole. She and her husband fostered children and then adopted Stephen at 2 weeks old and Amanda at 5 months. In 1980 they had their third child Matthew. Liz retired at a young age to take care of her family and husband who passed in 1982. After raising her own three children, Liz gained legal guardianship of her 3 grandchildren, Tyler, Courtney and Madison in 2000 and raised them.

Liz was a devoted mother, grandmother and friend. She took any chance she could to spend time with her loved ones. She enjoyed her yearly trips to the Chesapeake Bay and Outer Banks with her nursing school friends a.k.a the Turtles and Canada to visit her husbands family’s dairy farm and son at Niagara Falls. She was an avid Wheel of Fortune watcher, reader, gardener, ice cream enjoyer and Philadelphia Eagles fan. Liz’s faith was incredibly important to her. She was a member at Quakertown United Methodist Church and dedicated her time to serve in many capacities. Her faith in God was at the core of everything she did. She was involved with the Quakertown High School Wrestling team for many years. She attended almost every match, keeping statistics for each wrestler.

She is survived by her 3 children; Stephen, Amanda, and Matthew Cole. Her 5 grandchildren; Tyler and Courtney Smith, Madison Bucior, Amber and Abigail Tierno. Her great grand child, Mason Smith.

Liz was a strong, determined, and fiercely independent woman who will be missed by many. The passing of this great woman - the life-force that connected so many, in so many different and meaningful ways - will be celebrated followed by a luncheon at Quakertown United Methodist Church; 1875 Frier Rd. Quakertown Pa 18951, on Friday May 10, 2024 at 11:00am.
