Bonnie's obituary

Bonnie Jean Hills was born on June 9, 1946 to Elton and Doris Blystone in Independence Mo. She grew up in Buckner Missouri, a farm girl with several loving siblings and cousins. Bonnie went to St. Mary's High School where she met her soulmate, the love of her life, Stephen Hills. They were married August 14, 1965. Bonnie and Steve had two children, Wendy and Micah. Bonnie was a force of nature and an amazing woman, who loved her God, her husband, children, family, and friends fiercely. Bonnie worked at Montgomery Ward's Drapery for years, creating beautiful window coverings, until they closed. Bonnie then worked at Missouri Sewing Machine Company until her retirement. Bonnie could sew just about anything, clothes, window coverings that were art, baby quilts and blankets. True to her farm girl upbringing, Bonnie could grow anything, her favorites were her plants, flowers, and fairy gardens. Steve was an avid golfer and Bonnie learned to play and loved the game too. Bonnie and Steve retired to Clinton Mo, made so many friends, and belonged to the Clinton Country Club, where she was a member of the Ladies Association. She contributed to the beautification of the grounds and the clubhouse.  Her enduring JOY was her grandchildren 6 of them: Ryan Fowler (Niclole) Jeff Fowler (Nicki) Sarah Fuhr, Emily Fuhr, Devin Hills, and Stephen Hills, And her large brood of great grandchildren, all 8 of them. Bonnie Jean went HOME to Jesus on August 30, 2025 at her home with her beloved husband, Steve and daughter Wendy at her side. Bonnie leaves behind her sisters, Teresa and Pam and brother Hal. A large and loving extended family in the siblings of Steve, and several nieces and nephews. She joined her son, Micah, who passed away June 29, 2025. Eternal gratitude go out to Father Jim Taranto, of Holy Rosary Catholic Church and Novus Lifecare Hospice.
