Bonnie's obituary
In loving memory of Bonnie Rae Hatcher, who after a 3-year battle with cancer, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Tuesday, April 25, 2023. She was 75 years old. Bonnie is survived by her beloved husband of 57 years, Stanley E. Hatcher, their two daughters, Michelle Adkins (her husband Chris Adkins and sons Austin and Hunter) and Kimberly Hamel (her husband Chris Hamel and two children Amanda and Matthew). She is also survived by her sister, Sharon Southerly, and brother, Robert Lentz, and was predeceased by her parents, Robert Sr. and Betty Lentz.
Our mom was a strong woman of faith! She is often described by those who knew her as a “bright ray of sunshine”. She would light up any room with her beautiful smile, bubbly personality, and display of simple love and kindness she had for others. Even throughout the struggles of her illness, mom believed that all things are possible with God. She did not fear death but instead relied on her faith to find her source of strength, endurance and refuge when she was discouraged. It is this faith that we, her family, rely on today to get us through the remainder of our lives without her.
Mom was fiercely passionate about her family, and always put our needs before her own. Growing up, she was always there for us, whether we needed help with homework, or a comforting shoulder to cry on. There are so many fond memories of her from our childhood, like taking a job as a school bus driver so she could be with us after school and over the summer. As adults, our love grew into a deep and loving friendship with her – how she loved our pedicure days- these are cherished memories that can never be replaced or forgotten.
Our mother was a source of inspiration to us all and she will be deeply missed by everyone whose lives she touched. “Mom, you will always be in our hearts, and we will never forget you. We love you so much. May you rejoice in the presence of our Lord and SaviorJesus Christ until we see you again.”
A “Celebration of Life” is being planned by the family during the month of June. Please visit our memorial website in the coming weeks for more details.
