Bonnie's obituary
Bonnie Ruth Frank, a tough-as-nails, kind-hearted woman with a spirit full of fire and love, passed away peacefully on October 7, 2025, at the age of 72.
Bonnie was born on January 19, 1953, in New Jersey to Earnest and Ruth Zurberg (née Seaton), sharing a birthday with her beloved mother. She grew up in Oakland Park, Florida, where she developed a deep love of horses and spent her younger years barrel racing with courage and grit.
Bonnie was the proud mother of four sons: Bryon Frank, Scott Frank, Joshua Frank, and Mark Frank. She raised them with strength, honesty, and a fierce devotion only she could give. On November 18, 2008, she married Raymond Walter Scott, the love of her life. With Ray, she embraced his children, Matthew Scott and Christina Scott, as her own.
Bonnie is also survived by Kara Brown, the daughter of her second husband Gregory Frank, along with Kara’s husband, Jeff, and their daughter, Laura Frank-Brown — all of whom held a special place in her heart.
Together, Bonnie and Ray also welcomed Tonya Thomas into their hearts as a daughter in spirit and love.
Her legacy lives on in her many grandchildren: Everett, Presley, and Aubrey (children of Bryon and Brittany); Hunter and Bailey (children of Scott and Nichole); Christian (son of Joshua); Julianne and Gregory (children of Mark and Maribel); Destiny, Tyler, and Brayden (children of Christina); and Cayden, Braylin, and Charlee (children of Matthew and Leslie). She adored her grandchildren and cherished the time she spent with each of them.
Bonnie was proud to be “full of piss and vinegar,” and she lived up to it every day of her life. She was strong, outspoken, loyal, and had a heart that opened wide to family and friends alike. She had a few simple pleasures that brought her great joy — a cold Diet Coke, a Virginia Slim, Swiss pancakes, homemade Knoepfle, and reruns of Walker, Texas Ranger. She also had a lifelong love of John Wayne movies and the spirit of the Old West.
Though she wasn’t a churchgoer, Bonnie had her own kind of faith — in love, in family, and in staying true to yourself no matter what. She lived her life unapologetically and on her own terms, and she left this world the same way.
Per her wishes, Bonnie will be cremated. There will be no formal funeral service. A Celebration of Life will be held at her residence at a later date, where friends and family will gather to honor her memory. Once the date is set, loved ones will be notified and may send flowers or tributes at that time.
Bonnie Ruth Frank was one of a kind — sharp, sassy, loving, and unforgettable. Her voice, her laugh, and her fearless spirit will live on in all who knew and loved her.
