Bonnie's obituary

Bonita Jo Niewoehner was born in 1942 to parents Glen and Louise Niewoehner in Richmond, Indiana. 

She was raised in Indiana with her sister Betty.  In her childhood she enjoyed dancing, roller skating and playing the piano .  Her mother enjoyed taking black and white photos of the girls at recitals and family get togethers.

Bonnie attended college at Purdue University where she met Jack (Harold Joseph) Reed.

They were married in  1962 and later welcomed Teresa Ann (Terri), Cynthia Lynn (Cindy) and Christopher Michael (Chris).

In 1972 they moved from Indiana to Jackson, Michigan to build a home that they designed together.  

Bonnie enjoyed gardening canning fruit, making preserves and baking bread.   She was skilled in sewing, painting and in custom stained glass work.  When she wasn't  shuttling children to school, track practice and part time jobs; she was busy supporting Jack in his sales career .

Bonnie later went to work at Sammons  Preston which later became CAMP and then  Trulife.

Bonnie had 6 grandchildren : Alexander Reed Upham, Simon Elliot Louise Upham, Nathan Christopher Banks, Aaron Joseph Banks, Emily Grace Banks, and Matthew William Banks.  She was blessed with one great grand child:  Ariel Theadore Upham.

Bonnie was preceded in death by her husband, Jack and more recently her dearest friend Mickey Upham. The two became close friends who attended fitness classes regularly and enjoyed many family gatherings together.

Bonnie enjoyed fitness class at St. Joseph Shrine, attended book clubs, and volunteered with friends at the Brooklyn Food Pantry.  She expressed gratitude for their support in her final days .
