Bobby Lee Jessup was born in 1937 in Mount Airy, North Carolina to mother Annie Belle and father Jack; his younger brother was Chauncey. Bobby attended school in Surry County, graduating from J.J. Jones High school. After graduation, Bobby served in the United States Air Force as a Staff Sergeant.

On August 13, Bobby went home to Jesus. Bobby is preceded in death by many relatives, including his wife Thelma in 1984, father Jack in 1993, his mother Annie Belle, in 1996, and brother Chauncey, in 2002. Beloved by those who remain, including his wife Marion and her sisters and son, his children Eric, David, Cynthia (Ken), Marcus, and Kandis Lea, all of his extended family, including Aunt Vady, Cousin Paul, brother Raymond, all of North Carolina, nieces Courtney, of Memphis, Tennessee, and Carla (Omar) of San Francisco, sister-in-law Rosalee of San Francisco, and sister-in-laws, Josephine, Fatrina, Mamie, and Claressa, all of Birmingham, Alabama, and many cousins, grand nieces, loved ones, church friends, and community members too many to list here. We know the stories you have with Bobby are priceless, and we invite you to help us celebrate Bobby’s legacy and love.
