Bobby's obituary
Bobby Norris, passed into eternal rest on June 3rd, 2024 at the age of 84. Born on February 5, 1940, in Mountain City, Tennessee, he departed this life in Bristow, Virginia, surrounded by the love of his family.
Mr. Norris served honorably in the Air Force, dedicating over three years to his country with a deployment in Japan, where he forged a legacy of discipline and respect. Upon returning to civilian life, he translated his rigorous work ethic into the founding of several successful businesses, including B&B Archery with his son Bobby Joe, and Norris Appliance Repair, which remains a family-operated establishment under the guidance of his son-in-law Richard Stark. Additionally, Mr. Norris upheld the safety of his community as a policeman in Manassas Park.
An artisan with wood and an enthusiast of the outdoors, Bobby found serenity in archery, fishing, and the cultivation of his garden. President of the Waltonian Center and a lifetime member of the Izaak Walton League. Avid hunter archer and fisherman. His craftsmanship was second only to his joy in teaching and engaging with the youth, particularly his grandchildren. He attended Brentsville Presbyterian Church.
Bobby is survived by his devoted wife, Jerrie F. Norris, along with a lineage of love that includes his daughter Tammy J. Stark and her husband, Richard, his sons Kenneth, accompanied by his wife, Elizabeth, Bobby Joe, and grandchildren, Richard Steven Stark, Timothy Lee Stark, Tammy Nicole Stark Mammarella, Erica Danielle Stark Griswold, Owen Lee Crusenberry, Leah Ann Crusenberry Hockman, Lauren Kay Norris Malato, Allison M Norris, Jonathan Norris, and 9 great-grandchildren who will carry on his enduring spirit. He was ushered into the next life by his parents, Kenneth Earl and Bessie Mae Davis Norris; his brothers, Buddy Joe and Edward Ray Norris; his daughter, Teresa Norris-Crusenberry; his daughter-in-law, Anita Scowcroft Norris; and his grandson, Kenneth Michael Norris.
Loved ones are invited to gather in his memory at the Izaak Walton League, 12506 Izaak Walton Drive, Bristow, VA 20136, on Saturday, June 29th at 12:00pm. The legacy of Bobby Norris, marked by a life devoted to faith, family, and an unwavering moral compass, will forever be etched in the hearts of those who knew him.
