Bobbie's obituary

Bobbie Cartwright, affectionally known also as Granny, passed away on July 3, 2023. She was born on April 25, 1938, she lived a life full of love, faith, and unwavering devotion to her church and family.

Bobbie was a cornerstone of her family, and she is survived by her siblings Ethel Linam and Geraldine Vandergriff; her children Gary Cosby, Donna and husband Dave Slaughter, Darryl and wife Angela Cosby, and numerous grand, great, and great great grandchildren.  She was predeceased by her father Louis Graham and mother Mary Louis Graham Nail; her first husband, George Cosby; her second husband, Stephen Cartwright; her children, Wendy Jordan (Cosby) and David Cosby.

A vibrant and vivacious woman with a sassy persona, Bobbie always had something to say. She was unabashedly herself, and her resilience and spirit were fruitful lessons to all who knew her. Her favorite pastimes revolved around her community, whether at Harmony Baptist Church or Lakeside Baptist Church, where she regularly attended, or just simply spending time with her loved ones.

Known for her impeccable taste, she cherished the music of Amazing Grace and all gospel tunes. An avid fan of NCIS, she found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She loved vacationing in Tennessee, finding solace and peace in its serene beauty. Her care was universal but was especially generous towards her church community, which she strived to support and uplift.

Bobbie shared the wisdom she gathered throughout her life, preaching the importance of trusting in the Lord. She leaves behind a legacy of unconditional love and a commitment to her church, family, and friends, which is embodied in her favorite color green, representing renewal and growth.

A Celebration of Life for Bobbie will be held on July 15, 2023, at 1:30 with visitation to begin at 12:30 at the Lakeside Baptist Church, where she was a cherished member of the congregation. All who knew her are invited to attend and remember a woman whose love and faith were unwavering and who had enough love for everyone.

Bobbie Cartwright was not merely someone you knew; she was someone you could count on. Her profound impact on the people around her will be remembered, her teachings carried forward, and her love for everyone, everlasting.
