Bobbi Jo's obituary

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Bobbi Jo (BJ or Beej) McKenna on July 12, 2024. She was tragically struck by a vehicle while crossing the street in February of 2024, and spent several months fighting for her life. It is a testament to her strength and resilience that she fought for so long after sustaining such extensive injuries.

Bobbi Jo was born on August 25, 1964, to Dorothy and Edwin Barthold in Woodbury, NJ. She loved the Philadelphia Flyers, animals, and her family. Small in stature but not in spirit, she never backed down from a political disagreement.

BJ is survived by her children, Alicia Richmann (Matthew), Erica Pluta (Andrew), Robert McKenna and Shannon McKenna; partner, Mark Cunningham; grandchildren, Kaitlyn (21), Claire (11), Evan (6), and Rylee (6); her siblings, Edwin Barthold (Tracy) and Linda Parker, her nieces and nephews, and her chosen family, Howard Waxwood.

A private tree planting ceremony will be held in her honor. In lieu of flowers please consider donating to Center for Family Services. This charity is meaningful to us because they offer a broad range of assistance to families including addiction recovery, trauma response, family support, and education services.
