Blake. Man, one year today. You always lit up a room. Always saw the positive. And your creative nature, The sketches you showed me, you did. Please Rest In Peace. BECAUSE? You deserve to. And we’ll all be watching out for you. :)

One day, Blake handed me the PlayStation controller while he was playing Fallout so he could go to the restroom. For some unknown reason, I was consumed by the urge to repeatedly jump up and down on one of the characters he just killed. After that, I was immediately hooked on video games. Blake taught me how to play and would proudly boast to everyone who would listen, "Yeah, Sandra's a gamer. She plays all of her games on the hardest setting, just like me." Our best gaming experience was playing It Takes Two together. We tried to find another coach co-op after that, but nothing ever came close.

Blake was “the neighbors kid” to us in his late adolescent years. We did not know him well but always shared a friendly greeting whenever we encountered him. Blake had a troublemaking side about him, one harmless, that if anything, would make you chuckle at his efforts. To us he was honest and humble. We are saddened by the loss.

One of my favorite people. You were so thoughtful and positive. You brightened so many days and always wanted to make everyone smile. I’ll miss your humor and cherish all of the laughs that we had. I remember all of your movie recommendations and laugh thinking of your astonishment at all the classics I hadn’t seen. I loved how you would write down quotes or things that people said that you liked so you could remember them and how you would pull out a note from days prior of something that you didn’t want to forget to tell me. You inspire me to be kind and creative and I am very grateful to have known you.
“The problems we face today eventually turn into blessings in the rearview mirror of life. In time, yesterday’s red light leads us to a greenlight. All destruction eventually leads to construction, all death eventually leads to birth, all pain eventually leads to pleasure. In this life or the next, what goes down will come up. It’s a matter of how we see the challenge in front of us and how we engage with it. Persist, pivot, or concede. It’s up to us, our choice every time.”

Rest easy my friend.

Blake had a book cover in his apartment and I put this on his head and this will always be my favorite photo of him doing funny things just for a cheap laugh.

I visited Blake in Portland and Washington. He was always opportunistic and had to get a photo in front of a Delorean or whatever this Back to the Future looking car was.

Blake was one of those people who not only could talk to anyone, but actually wanted to connect with other humans. That is a unique gift unlike anyone I have ever met. His charm and charisma helped him greatly while navigating the world he lived in. He will be missed greatly by myself as well as the team at The Experience of Neshama. Much love!

He was the one cousin I talked to every few weeks. Never ceased to make me laugh and always had a great story to tell to lighten the mood. Miss you Blake :)

It feels like yesterday that Blake and I were living down the street from each other, hanging out everyday, and loving the high school life. It was also convenient that our birthdays were just a few days apart and we had great parties. Including the surprise party that my sister threw for both Blake and I that we had found out about but played it cool and surprised. It's been a couple decades since we last spoke, but my memories with him will live on. I am so sorry and sad to hear of his passing. Many thoughts, prayers, and love are being sent to all of his friends and family. Simply tragic. Replay the fond memories! Blake, stay funny, jovial, and kind as that is how I will always remember you. Rest easy my friend.
