Biso's obituary
In Loving Memory of Biso Sadik
September 26, 1940 – April 18, 2025
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, and matriarch, Biso Sadik, who departed this life on April 18, 2025, at the age of 85 due to complications from a stroke.
Born in 1940, Biso was a devoted mother, grandmother, and friend whose warmth, generosity, and strength left an indelible mark on all who knew her. She was predeceased by her loving husband, Huseen Sadi, whom she married in 1966. Though widowed early in life, Biso raised her children as a single mother with unwavering devotion and determination. She built a successful business while nurturing her family, a testament to her remarkable resilience and resourcefulness.
Biso is survived by her six children: Ibrahim Sadi, Mohammed Sadi, Unwar Sadi, Razak Sadi, Nad Sadi, and Hiqmat Sadi. She was blessed with 14 grandchildren, who brought great joy to her later years and with whom she shared cherished traditions and wisdom.
Known for her deep love of Ethiopian cuisine, especially doro wat and kitfo, Biso’s home was a welcoming place for friends, neighbors, and travelers alike—a community hub filled with food, laughter, and stories. Her generosity was unmatched; over the years, countless people found comfort, support, and nourishment at her table.
In her later years, Biso relocated from Ethiopia to Dallas, Texas, to live with her son Ibrahim, continuing to be a source of wisdom and love in the lives of her children and grandchildren.
She enjoyed going on walks, often accompanied by her grandchildren, and frequently reminded them that:
"Nothing worth your time comes easy."
She also delighted in playing Ale bun, a traditional game that brought smiles and laughter to generations of family gatherings. Her favorite color was blue, a fitting reflection of her gentle, joyful, and calming spirit.
Biso leaves behind a powerful legacy of love, perseverance, and community. Her joyful presence, compassionate heart, and guiding words will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
