Bishop's obituary

The Life and Legacy of Bishop (Rev.) Friday Ajah (1941 – 2026)

With profound gratitude to The Almighty God for a life of purpose and sacrifice, we celebrate the transition to glory of our patriarch, Bishop (Rev.) Friday Ajah.

Born in 1941, Bishop Ajah’s journey was one of unwavering faith and divine calling. At 85 years old, he stood as a towering figure in the Body of Christ, having spent decades as a tireless shepherd, a spiritual father to many, and a beacon of hope to the hopeless.

As the Founder and General Overseer of Body of Christ Ministries International, Bishop Ajah’s vision was clear: to build a ministry rooted in the love of Christ and the power of the Word. Under his leadership, the ministry grew from a humble beginning into a global community of believers, centered at the headquarters on Stadium Road, Port Harcourt. His teachings were characterized by wisdom and a passion for the salvation of souls.

Beyond the pulpit, he was a man of deep humility and compassion—he always said "Everybody is Somebody", a true 'Father in the Lord' who lived by the conviction that God's provision in Christ is complete. Even in his 85th year, his zeal for the Kingdom never wavered. He held on to the Bible, the blessings he prayed for everyone, and gave his all for the mission of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Though he has been called home to rest, his legacy lives on through the countless lives he transformed and the ministry he built. As it is written in Psalm 116:15, 'Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints.'

Rest in power, Bishop. Your work is finished, and your crown of glory awaits."
