Good evening, I bring to you a celebration of the life of Billie Jean Wells, member of the Ohio community, and a beacon of love and adventure to all who knew her. Billie, as she was affectionately known by friends and family, graced this world with her presence on December 18th, 1973, in Huntington, West Virginia, and after a lifetime of cherished moments, she departed peacefully on December 30th, 2023, in Portsmouth, Ohio.

Billie's years were spent with lots of love, where she developed a strong bond with her sister, Brenda Burchett. This bond would blossom into countless hours of conversation and laughter that spanned their entire lives. Her heart was as vast as the ocean she adored, and she poured that love into her daughter, Caitlin Wells, her nephews, Austin and Chaz Thompson, and her great-niece, Aizelyn Thompson. Billie's legacy continues through her grandchildren, Cailyn, Derek, Donovan, and Dagen Wells, each a testament to her boundless love and vivacious spirit.

Her living siblings are as followed, Ronnie Wells, Walter Wells ,Andy Otworth ,Michelle Mershon , and Eddie Otworth. 

Billie’s parents are both deceased. Mother is Brenda Mershon. Father is Ronnie wells.

Deceased siblings to follow are Rhonda Fowler, Mark Wells, and Evon Walker. May the deceased rest in peace.

For many years, Billie dedicated her professional life to the medical field as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), where her compassionate nature found its true calling. She was a pillar of support and care, not only to her patients but also to her colleagues, many of whom became lifelong friends. Her work was not just a job; it was a manifestation of her innate desire to help and heal others.

When Billie finally retired from working and wasn't donning her scrubs anymore, she was an adventurer at heart. Her love for vacationing at the beach was well-known, as she found solace in the rhythm of the waves and the warmth of the sun. Her adventurous spirit wasn't confined to the shorelines. She had a passion for shopping, always on the lookout for the perfect find, whether for herself or as gifts to bring joy to others.

Those who knew Billie can attest to the fact that she was the embodiment of love. Her brutally honest presence was a comforting embrace, her laughter echoed in the hearts of those she touched. She was spirited in every sense of the word, her energy and enthusiasm for life inspiring to all. Her adventurous soul led her to explore, to dream, and to cherish every moment with an open heart.
