Please consider a contribution to Southern Poverty Law Center.

Background

In the early 1960s Billie worked actively in Atlanta's Civil Rights Movement, alongside now deceased Congressman John Lewis. Her determination to serve the underserved was constant; she worked ceaselessly in social justice.

The Southern Poverty Law Center embodies the spirit of Billie, by working to stamp out institutional racism and remnants of Jim Crow segregation; destroy some of the nation’s most violent white supremacist groups; and protect the civil rights of children, women, the disabled, immigrants and migrant workers, prisoners, and many others who faced discrimination, abuse or exploitation.
