He will join his father, Marshall “Doc” Gammage, and his mother, Eleanor Kirkpatrick Gammage.

A memorial and celebration of Bill’s life will be held on Sunday, November 18th, from 1-4pm at the Coolidge Cemetery chapel located at 1601 FM 73, Coolidge, TX 76635. All are welcome to join the family to share stories and memories of Bill’s life in a relaxed setting. Interment will follow at a private ceremony.

Bill will be remembered for his generosity, loyalty, and energetic, gregarious nature. His love of music and literature, appreciation for history, and compassion toward animals will live on in those whose lives he touched.

Bill grew up in Waco and Coolidge, TX where he was a photographer for the Wacoan school paper and played tennis and football for the Coolidge Yellowjackets. He served as the associate editor, photographer, and music and sports writer for The Highlander at McClennan Community College and enjoyed playing drums in local bands throughout his high school and college years. Bill raised his two daughters in Arlington, TX and worked as a manager trainer for Kinney Shoes and Lady Footlocker for 35 years before returning to Coolidge with his wife in 2009. An avid collector and trader of records and rock memorabilia, he was always on the hunt for a deal, and found joy in sharing his unique finds with others. He regularly attended the Dallas International Guitar Festival and Austin International Record Convention. In addition to his devotion as a father and husband, Bill cared for many pets over the years and was known to take in strays.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Bill’s name to Operation Kindness, a nonprofit animal rescue organization he supported (https://www.operationkindness…) or to the Coolidge Cemetery Association, P.O. Box 84 Coolidge, TX 76635
