Bill's obituary
Bill Russell, went to be with the Lord on August 14, 2023, in Tyler, Texas at the age of 65. He was born on April 26, 1958, to Dan and Doris Russell of Plano, TX, and was the oldest of their four children. Bill attended and was a graduate of Plano High School in 1976. After graduation, he went on to further his education at Texas A&M University, in College Station.
Bill lived in Mount Pleasant, TX for the past 20 years where his home and family farm were a place where family and friends gathered and memories were made. He especially enjoyed hosting family events, watching westerns on TV, and opening his home yearly as a deer camp for avid family hunters. He enjoyed the simple pleasures of life and found solace and happiness on the back porch swing with a glass of sweet tea in his hand or in the seat of a tractor working hard taking care of the land he loved. Bill was often a man of few words. However, when you were in his presence you knew you were deeply loved and cared for.
Bill was a truly great man whose impact will be forever felt by his family, who loves him dearly. He was a selfless man, a loving father, son, brother, uncle, and pappy. He was also cherished by many friends and extended family. His passing has left an unfillable gap in the hearts of his loved ones.
He is survived by his son, Clint Russell, and Wife Morgan of Lavon; Grand Daughter, Everlee Russell, sister, Kathy Moreland and husband Mike of Plano, brother, John Russell and wife Lynn of Sherman, sister, Karen Lyon of Princeton; with numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews, and nieces.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Dan and Doris Russell.
A memorial service for friends and family will take place at 11 a.m. on September 30th at his family farm in Mount Pleasant, TX to remember and celebrate the life of this great man.
