Background
Bill Parmar “Community Champ” Award celebrates Bill's legacy and his passion for developing community initiatives at home and abroad. Bill was a dedicated entrepreneur and community leader during the 50 years he lived in Prince Rupert. Bill's extensive community involvement included economic and business development, fundraising, and enhancing community safety. He served as Assistant District Governor for Rotary International, President of the Prince Rupert Hecate Strait Rotary Club, Auxiliary Officer and Assistant Manager of the Victim Services Unit with the RCMP, President of the Prince Rupert & District Chamber of Commerce, Chair of the Board for Community Futures, and President of the Prince Rupert Sikh Missionary Society. Additionally, Bill was an active participant in the Prince Rupert community soccer and cycling scene. This award aims to continue his legacy by supporting Prince Rupert's graduating students who demonstrate excellence in community involvement, embodying Bill's spirit of service and leadership.
Donations to this fund will directly support a Prince Rupert high school graduating student who has shown outstanding commitment to their community. These funds will assist them in pursuing higher education or vocational training, providing them with the resources they need to continue their journey of community service and leadership. Contribute
