Bill's obituary

With deep sadness, we share that Bill Barnett Hayes, 83, of Clifton, Texas, passed away on December 31, 2025.

Born in Dallas, Texas, Bill was a man with stong Christian values who cared deeply for his family. He served honorably as a United States Army medic in Germany before returning home to build a life centered around his career, family and church. He had a gift for kind words, steady encouragement, and gentle support.

Bill was a devoted father to Eric, Danielle, and Gabriel, as well as a proud grandfather and great-grandfather. He found his greatest joy hunting, fishing, and boating with them. Lake Whitney was his own personal paradise, where friends fondly called him “Cap'n Bill”. He easily cultivated long lasting friendships and approached both work and life with steady integrity.

In his final days, he devoted himself to family and prayer, approaching the end of his life with meaningful travel, fond memories, and quiet assurance. He will be remembered for his steadfast faith, resounding laugh and the undeniable impact he had on everyone around him. Texas lost a great one, but his legacy lives on in all who knew him.

A memorial service will be held on March 15, 2026, at 2:30 p.m. at Wings of Faith Christian Fellowship, 140 County Road 1700, Clifton, with military honors to follow at the newly established "Bill B. Hayes Family Cemetery", 154 Private Road 1720, Clifton. All who knew and loved him are welcome to attend.
