Bianca's obituary
Bianca Kristine Johnson-Dougherty
(May 25, 1990 – May 30th, 2025)
Bianca Kristine Johnson-Dougherty entered this life on May 25, 1990, born to Melissa Dougherty Staszkow and David Johnson, while also raised by Pedro Polanco, all of Philadelphia, PA.
Bianca was a proud graduate of Little Flower Catholic High School for Girls, Class of 2008. During her time there, she played the trumpet in the school’s musical program and took great pride in marching annually in the Puerto Rican Day Parade. As a participant in the Police Athletic League, Bianca received special recognition when she was named “Police Commissioner for the Day” during her junior year—an honor personally presented by Mayor Michael Nutter.
After high school, Bianca pursued her passion for healthcare and became a certified Surgical Technician through Star Technical Academy. She found great meaning in her work, especially during her time at Temple OBGYN, where she cherished her role in supporting women’s health.
Bianca’s greatest pride and joy, however, were her three beloved daughters: Ahlana Gabrielle Stinson, Kassidy Lee-Ann Palmer, and Kali-Shawne Christine Palmer. She beamed with pride watching Ahlana graduate middle school and begin her journey in the medical field. She celebrated every step Kassidy and Kali took in elementary school. But more than their achievements, Bianca was most proud of the young women they are becoming—kind, compassionate, funny, and studious. She often spoke of them with deep admiration and unwavering love.
With her vibrant spirit and charismatic personality, Bianca lit up every room she entered. Her radiant smile and contagious laugh left lasting impressions on all who knew her. Her faith was a source of strength through life’s many trials, and as her health declined, she leaned on her unwavering trust in God and the steadfast love of her family.
Bianca is deeply loved and will be missed by her grandparents Catherine Lopez, Christine Johnson, and John Johnson; her siblings, including Joshua Polanco, Shonda, David Jr., Isaiah, D’evion, and Khalif; her many aunts, uncles, cousins, and a wide circle of friends who became her chosen family.
As we remember Bianca, may we find comfort in two of her favorite scriptures:
“I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”
—Philippians 4:13
“Yet I am always with you; you hold me by my right hand. You guide me with your counsel, and afterward you will take me into glory. My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.”
—Psalms 73:23–26
