Beverly Jean Verdery, 73, of Normal, Illinois, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 17, 2024. She was born in Seminole, Texas on July 24, 1951 to Marion and Dorothy Belknap. Beverly passed exactly 50 years after her mother’s own passing.

Beverly graduated from Midland Lee High School, and then from Texas Tech University. While at Tech, she met Richard Verdery. They were married in 1974 and would have celebrated their 50th anniversary on August 17.

Beverly was a devoted and loving mother to her three children and grandmother to her six grandchildren. She enjoyed reading and sewing.

Surviving Beverly is her husband, Richard Verdery and their children: Suzanne (Nick) Dell, Scott (Traci) Verdery, and Laura (James) Edmonds; and grandchildren: Jacob Dell, Jonathan Dell, Ella Verdery, Emerson Verdery, James Harlan Edmonds, and Samantha Edmonds.; Also surviving are her sisters Susan (Don) Cox, Judith (Larry) Smith, her brother Steven Belknap, and several nieces and nephews.

A private family memorial will be held on Thursday, June 20, 2024.
