Beverly Florence Pasbrig

December 15, 1936 - May 24, 2025

Beverly Florence Pasbrig (nee Stordahl), age 88, passed away peacefully in her Mesa, Arizona home on May 24th, 2025 with her husband Les, daughter Terri and son Steve by her side.

Beverly was born on December 15th, 1936, in Lake Crystal, Minnesota to Melvin “Max” and Clarice Stordahl (nee Sandvig). She graduated from Winnebago High School and continued her studies at Mankato Business School. Beverly was married to Lester Lee Pasbrig on January 25th, 1958. They went on to spend 67 wonderful years together. Their 60th wedding anniversary was celebrated with a surprise vow renewal in 2018, thrown in a neighbor’s backyard by close family and friends.

Due to their love of Arizona and their desire to escape Minnesota winters, Bev and Les decided to retire early in 1994 and pursue the snowbird lifestyle. They split their time between Crane Lake, Minnesota and Mesa, Arizona for the next 23 years, before they settled permanently in their Mesa home in 2017.

Bev was passionate about gardening and enjoyed the Arizona desert landscape. Her front and backyard reflected that natural beauty. You could find her tending to her plants and trying her best to keep rabbits out of her yard year-round. She especially loved her hibiscus, cacti and hummingbird visitors.

She also enjoyed baking and would mail her family cookies and traditional treats like lefse during the holiday season. Her children and grandchildren looked forward to receiving that special package every year.

Despite settling in Arizona, her love for the Minnesota Vikings never wavered. She was always on the hunt for a local bar airing the Vikings game or watching it at home with friends on their back patio.

In Minnesota, she enjoyed spending time with family and fishing on Crane Lake. To this day, she still holds the record at the Crib Shack with a 27½” walleye.

Bev has always been active in her communities, a caring neighbor and devoted friend. Above all, she was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister. Family was very important to her, and she will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Beverly is preceded in death by her parents Max and Clarice, an infant brother Dean Stordahl, brother Donald Stordahl and sister Janice Sonnabend. She is survived by her husband, Les; daughter, Terri Fowler of Key West, Florida; son, Steven Pasbrig (Jennifer Fick) of Esko, Minnesota; grandchildren, Lauren Fowler (Benjamin Siskind) of Vienna, Austria; Connor Fowler of Los Angeles, California; and Jace Pasbrig of Esko; her twin sisters, Judy Staloch (Tom) and Joan Slama (Jeff).

In conjunction with a Family Reunion, a Celebration of Life was held on September 21st, 2025 at Joan & Jeff’s farm in Winnebago. Photos and memories of Bev were shared, and family members were able to pot their own cacti to take home in remembrance of Bev.

Her husband, Les, now resides at Suncrest Assisted Living in Cloquet, Minnesota.
